Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Bait Harvest Licenses


Due to the COVID-19 pandemic state of emergency and the closure of Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe offices during this time the sale of bait harvesting licenses will handled on an individual basis by Leech Lake Conservation Officers. All regulations regarding bait-harvesting will follow the 2019 regulations.

Netting - Regular season, Individual: $4.00
Minnow Harvesting, Individual: $3.00
Leeching, Individual: $3.00
All Three: $10.00

Combination License varies dependent on type of activities.

Non-Band Members - Residents:

Starting July 1, 2016 the fee for Commerical BAit Harvesting Helpers; Minnow & Leechin for non-band members that reside on the Leech Lake Reservation will increase to $20.

Before a permit is issued to non-band members, they must have one or more of the following:

  • Have a tribal identification card w/enrollment number.
  • MN Driver’s License with current address.
  • Must be a resident of the Leech Lake Reservation for ninety (90) days.
