Youth Chemical Dependency Prevention Program

Also known as YCDPP is a MN state funded program under the Department of Health & Human Services. Its’ purpose is to increase community & youth relationships through positive cultural identity, life skills knowledge and decreased youth use of alcohol and other drugs. It is using positive community norms and lifestyles rather than using alcohol and other drugs.

The Youth Program provides activities for youth ages 8 to 18 in the following components;

  1. Cultural programming
  2. Educational programs
  3. Sports and Recreation
  4. Health and Fitness

Our philosophy of “Culture is Prevention” and engaging youth in cultural hands on activities, has helped them to discover a sense of self identity and belonging. We provide a cultural retreat every month in a different location on Leech Lake.

Individual schedules and community calendars may be gotten through our office.
